Well, my life has become very hectic as of late. Hubby now works out of state-1 1/2 hours away so I am now in charge of every single thing in this house :o( Stressed is just desserts spelled backwards HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Not in my world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any-who, the fids are great. We have, ummmm, 2 new additions, I think, since I've last posted. First, we adopted a Jenday Conure with a plucking problem. He came from a good home, but he has some issues that we haven't figured out yet. Friday, I got a UVA lamp that I bought and every day since, he's been around it. I won't say under it because he is terrified of it yet. But, he is near it ;o)
I tried using ALoe Vera Juice mixed with water in a spray bottle, but he seemed to get worse with that so I quit and will just continue to spritz him with just warm water.
Next new addition is a new baby Lineolated Parakeet. He is just too precious, but so very timid and not tame at all which is unusual since he came from a breeder. We're getting there, though. He now knows me and knows that I will help him back into the cage if he decides to come out and can't figure out how to get back in. He talks, but he says what baby Joey says which is very comical! Baby Joey says, "Hi Baby Joey" and now so does Tiny Timmy! LOL!!
My babies in the bird room are not caged. Cages are open and they can come and go as they please, but they are not caged. We cage them only when it is time for bed and then each fid gets their own cage, except for the budgies-they share a cage. And, our Evie (cockatiel) who is cage-free by her choice.
Unfortunately, the lovies are caged in the main part of the house because of the cat :o( The cat was here first so I'm not about to limit her to one or 2 rooms in the house. The Conures stay out unless we are leaving for the day or to go to bed. They never leave their cages or play stands. Why should they when it is like a toy store?!
Right now, the lovies and conures are enjoying their new DVD :o) My parents came on Saturday while the DVD was on and my stepfather nearly had a fit. He could not believe that I had bought a DVD for the birds with birds on the DVD *sigh* Oh well.
What's on your menu for this week? I need some ideas! LOL!
